February 4th: Systems are being installed!

We have begun installing systems in your home.  As of last week we finished framing the home and did an initial inspection on the framing.  We will complete a more thorough inspection prior to insulating the house before the county comes and completes their inspections.

This week the HVAC subcontractor has come and run the duct work and the plumber has installed all the piping needed behind the walls.  The electrician just began today and is installing all the wiring in the home.

The plan for the next week is to complete all the electrical work in the home and then install the security system and other low voltage wiring like TV and Phone lines.  At that point I will complete a thorough walk through and write a punch list of quality items for the framers to come back and tighten up.  After that, I will schedule the county inspections.  The county inspectors are one more additional set of eyes on your home verifying that all the systems are installed correctly.  After that we will head into insulation and then drywall!

January 25th: Framing has begun!

We started framing yesterday and already have the first floor system built.  It is looking awesome!  Over the next week we should complete framing and be ready to start installing some of systems in the home: HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical.  Things are progressing very nicely though.

January 19th: Foundation is in!

This is such an exciting time in the building process.  Things are starting to take shape.  The poured concrete basement foundation walls were installed last week.  After that, the plumbers came in and installed some of the pipes and water lines you will need in the basement of the home.  The county inspectors reviewed and inspected these and then we proceeded to install the basement slab.

Now that the lumber is on site, we will start framing the home next week.  It will happen fast so expect some good pictures next week.

January 10th: Grading is complete

Over the past week we have had a survey completed of your new home on the lot by our architectural firm.  Next we began preparing for construction.  This involved stripping all the organic material (grass) off your lot.  Next our architectural company came out and staked out the lot so we knew exactly where the house would sit on the lot.  After that we started playing in the dirt!

We spent a full day moving some dirt around.  In particular this involved digging a big hole where your basement foundation will go.  We also leveled up the land in preparation for your footing and then foundation which we will get started on in the next couple of weeks.

January 1st: First Post

Congratulations!!!!  We are just getting ready to start your new home.  I am sure you are as excited as I am to get going on it so don’t expect your lot to look like this too much longer.
